Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of EquIP. They set out what the platform is, what it is not, and the basis on which information is presented — including our commitment to neutrality.
Please note. These terms describe how the platform works today in plain English. They are a starting point, not legal advice — have them reviewed before you rely on them. By using EquIP you agree to them. Last updated 10 August 2026.
1. What EquIP is
EquIP is an independent information platform that presents marine equipment makers on equal terms so that technical and procurement teams can compare them. EquIP is not a broker or an agent, is not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a maker, and takes no commission on any dealing that follows from use of the platform.
2. No warranty on maker information
Maker profiles, specifications, approvals and reference projects are supplied by the makers themselves. Where a field is marked as verified, we have applied the check described in our methodology — but EquIP does not guarantee that any maker-supplied information is accurate, complete or current, and information can change without notice. You must carry out your own due diligence before relying on anything shown here or entering into any commitment with a maker. Nothing on the platform is advice or a recommendation to deal with any particular maker.
3. Access and accounts
Access to the platform is granted at EquIP’s discretion. Accounts carry a role — buyer, maker or administrator — that determines what you can see and do. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account, and you agree that the information you provide when requesting access is truthful and that you are authorised to represent any organisation you name.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not misrepresent who you are or which organisation you act for.
- Do not extract, copy or harvest the makers list or other platform data in bulk, whether by automated means or otherwise.
- Do not attempt to access data, accounts or systems you are not authorised to reach, or to disrupt or probe the security of the platform.
- Do not use the platform to send unsolicited marketing to makers or other users.
5. Our independence commitment
Neutrality is the point of EquIP, so we make it a binding term: EquIP takes no commission and sells no ranking or placement. No maker can pay to rank higher, to be labelled verified, or to exclude a competitor. Contacting us or using the platform places you under no obligation.
6. Intellectual property
The platform, its design and the compiled directory and dataset are owned by EquIP. Makers retain rights in the content they submit and grant EquIP the permission needed to display and verify it on the platform. You may use the platform for your own professional evaluation, but not to build a competing dataset.
7. Availability
We work to keep the platform available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and may change, suspend or withdraw features at any time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, EquIP is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on maker-supplied information or from any dealing between a buyer and a maker. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, and the courts of Geneva have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.
