What the labels mean — and what they don’t.
EquIP structures information so buyers can judge it for themselves. We are transparent about the source and status of every claim, and we never present marketing language as verified fact.
Verification labels
Every maker, product and approval carries one of four labels. They describe how much evidence sits behind the information — not how good the equipment is.
Provided by maker
Information supplied by the maker and structured by EquIP. Not yet independently checked.
Verified by documentation
Supporting certificates or datasheets have been reviewed and match the stated claim.
Reference confirmed
A named reference project has been confirmed against the product or approval.
Pending review
Submitted information is in the queue for documentation review. Shown transparently as such.
What EquIP verifies
- That approval and certificate documents exist and match the stated scope.
- That reference projects can be confirmed as real vessels or yards.
- That product specifications are internally consistent and complete.
- That a maker is a genuine, operating manufacturer or systems house.
What EquIP does not do
- Rank makers by quality, endorse products, or recommend one over another.
- Guarantee commercial performance, pricing, delivery or after-sales support.
- Accept payment for placement, ranking or preferential visibility.
- Act as an agent or broker, or take any commission on a transaction.
Independence policy
EquIP is deliberately structured to remain neutral. The platform does not earn commission on equipment sales, and placement in search results or the directory cannot be purchased under any arrangement.
Search ordering reflects the buyer’s filters and objective attributes such as verification status and completeness of information — never a commercial relationship. Where a maker sponsors nothing and pays nothing, its visibility is identical to any other maker matching the same criteria.
Verification labels are applied by the same standard to every maker regardless of size, origin or tenure on the platform. Our aim is simple: present marine equipment on equal terms, and let the evidence speak.
